Hello, Carlee,

there is no need to panic. If you feel sick, go to doctor but one slice of moldy bread should not hurt you very much.

Hello, Flor,

yes you can do it but will it produce enough light?
Stronger bulb produces more light on the but also more heat which can damage the shade.

Hello, Feller, you made me think a little bit.
I will conduct a little research in the next couple of days to find out which fridges do open easily and which not. I will prepare a sort of chart and publish it here.
he problem is that shops here do not sell US refrigerators very often (I live in Slovakia, Europe) but never mind I will try to find as many models as possible.
Maybe you, people from USA, could tell me at least what fridge model you have at home and if it opens (too) easily so that also a child can open it or not.
Thanks beforehand, of course, for any info...

This post is simply not realistic. Most children can open a refrigerator at about 18-24 months and cannot really be trusted to poke around inside a fridge until they are 4-5. That's 2-3 years of trying to keep kids out of #1 thing they love to get into -- the refridgerator!

You´re right, Paolo. Once I had similar problem with my younger son (12 moths). Somehow he managed to switch the freezer off (with the button in the front) and I noticed it after couple of hours only. Luckily, the insulation of that freezer is that good that it kept the low temperature long enough until I switched it on again (1 hour in the superfreeze mode).

Is not only a matter of door closed or not, the alarm is really useful on the freezer compartment.
It warn if the internal temperature of this compartment was going over a dangerous value (minus 12 or similar) in particular condition (e.g. during a blackout) and, in the best refrigerator, display also the maximum temperature reached by the compartment: this info is extremely important after an energy cut to know if the cold chain of the food is preserved (not necessary to scrap the frozen food) or not.
Typical situation: during vacation the Grid was under blackout for a period. When u come back home, if u do not have alarm, u never know what happen. With the alarm u are first of all warned that the refrigerator didn't work for a certain period AND the maximum temperature reached by the food.
